January 6th, 2008 | by admin |Shanghai officials said a revised plan for the city’s magnetic levitation railway expansion will cost double the initial estimates as a result of new construction features intended to minimize the impact on local residents.
The revised route, avoiding densely populated areas, will run 31.8 kilometers, three kilometers shorter than previously planned, according to a statement issued by the city’s urban planning bureau.
The line extension will link two of the city’s airports.
